The term "firm and fast" to describe a golf course seems
straightforward on the surface. Less water means drier, firmer surfaces
that allow greater ball roll off the tee shot and the approach.

industry is well aware there’s no simple strategy for achieving firm
conditions, and certainly not one that can be applied to all golf
courses and meet all golfers’ expectations.
