The ESAGCS Board of Directors recently held it’s first meeting of 2013 to review feedback on our monthly meetings and annual turf conference, as well as to outline a tentative schedule for the coming year. The following is a brief summary of topics discussed during the meeting:
- We reviewed all of the reasons given for why members may or may not attend our monthly meetings. Most reasons had to do with time away from family, away from the course, and/or travel time. We looked at ways to improve the value of monthly meetings to build incentive to attend.
- The board reviewed and discussed each suggestion for a service or activity that isn’t currently provided by the ESAGCS. We focused in on a few good ideas and activities that we will try to implement in the coming year. Look for more info on this in the coming months.
- We talked about our vendor relations, heard their suggestions, and looked for ways to increase the value of their sponsorship.
- Finally the board reviewed all suggested topics and speakers for our monthly meetings and our annual turf conference. Some topics were tentatively selected and will be added to our schedule for 2013. We tried to select the topics that would be most interesting and have the most relevance to our current educational needs as Superintendents.
As a board we are focused on maximizing the value of your memberships to the association. We will work hard to provide quality educational opportunities, as well as opportunities to get away from the course and enjoy time with friends and associates.
